Hi there!  Marty Labrado here.  I created this website to show digital marketers, like yourself, that it doesn't need to be difficult.

I know it can feel overwhelming when you're just starting out online.  I've been there, myself.

I tried to overcome that fear by bunkering down and learning everything I could about blogging and digital marketing.  This is not necessarily a bad thing.  We should WANT to learn as much as we can about our field!

But it's so damn easy to fall into the 'analysis paralysis' trap.  I spent years in that trap.

Fake online gurus would have you believe that you need their 'magic-pill-one-size-fits-all-push-button' software.

This is just NOT TRUE!

Sure, there are software and a few other things that can make life easier as a content creator, but they sure as hell don't beat good ol' fashioned hard work.

What Is The 90 Day Content Challenge?

You might be wondering if a 90 day content creation challenge is for you.

The short answer to that question is: yes!

This challenge is great for entrepreneurs who use a website or blog as their main platform to connect with their audience.

A blogging challenge will not only help with your SEO efforts, it will position you as an authority in your niche.

Your Content Creation Challenge Doesn't Have To Be Blog Posts

Perhaps one of the best things about creating content online is that it is fluid.

Fluid content is simply an idea that can be worked and repurposed into different forms of content.

Not too big on writing?  No problema!

Maybe the spoken word is your thing.  You can start a podcast!

Perhaps you have a knack for video.  Get your YouTube channel up and running!

Maybe you're a real go-getter and you're fixing to do all three.

You can use whatever format that you're the most comfortable with.  The only thing that matters is that you get started TODAY!

Who Will Benefit From A 90 Day Content Challenge?

When I started out online, I didn't have any courses or services to sell.  Shoot!  I STILL don't have any courses to sell you (and when I do create them, most of them will be free because I believe in giving massive value).

Content creation and content marketing was the way to go for me.  I knew people were spending money on PPC and CPA, but I just didn't have the means to funds something like that.

So I started a little 'hole in the wall' blog.  It was in the leadership development niche and all I did was write book reviews which linked to Amazon.

This was years ago and although I did see some results (to the tune of a whopping $80 a month!), it wasn't anything life changing.

Now, I'm not saying that you're going to get the same tiny results that I did.  I only ever got that far in the beginning of my digital marketing career because I didn't know what the hell I was doing.

You read that right.  I didn't know what the hell I was doing when I started out and I STILL made some sort of income!

But you don't need to go it alone.

Your Partner In Crime

You need a partner in crime.  Someone to keep you accountable on your 90 Day Content Creation Challenge.

I want you to have a group of people to lift you up and keep you accountable to your goals.

What Can We Expect From The 90 Day Content Challenge

There are a few things we can expect from a 90 Day Content Marketing Challenge.

First, we can expect to see an increase in our web traffic but only IF you're consistent in your work.

Second, if you have lead capture forms and a good opt-in offer, we can reasonably expect to increase your lead generation.

Take Note:  Doing a content creation challenge is hard work.

You really should only do this challenge if you know you can keep up the pace.  I can't say how long each piece of content will take you to create because everyone has different levels of different skills.

What If I Can't Do 90 Days Straight?

I'm glad you asked.

I actually fall into this category.  And that's totally okay!

You don't have to beat yourself up if you can't do 90 days straight of content creation.  The only thing that really matters is that you get yourself into a rhythm of doing the work.

The only thing that matters in a content creation challenge is that you GET TO WORK AND KEEP THE MOMENTUM GOING.

Let me explain the way I'm doing this challenge.

I take care of my mother.  She's ill and needs assistance.  She's slowly getting better but I don't see myself having any more free time than usual, as taking care of hetr is a full time job.  I'm not complaining, though.  I love my mother and I'm happy to take of her!

But that's not going to stop me from doing this challenge.  

Sometimes life gets in the way, but that is NOT going to stop me from pursuing my dreams!

I'm not going to do 90 days straight of content creation (I'm actually going to do way more than 90 days, this is just the start).  What I'm doing instead is posting 3 days a week: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

If you're in the same boat and life just won't let you go for 90 days straight, then this second option will work for you.

Maybe you can't even do 3 days a week, and that's okay.  What matters the most is that you keep a consistent posting pattern once you start.

I recommend shooting for posting to your blog at least 3 days a week, but if you can only realistically do one day a week, then that's a start.

Your Content Marketing Challenge Goals & Milestones

It's a great idea to set some goals to reach when starting your content marketing challenge.  Otherwise, what are you even doing this for if you don't have anything to aim for?

If you've been blogging for a while now, then you probably have a pretty good idea of which metrics you want to increase.

If you're starting a brand new website or blog then there are only a few things that need your ultimate attention.  Those are:

  • Monthly Unique Visitors
  • Lead Generation
  • Social Media Followers
Monthly Unique Visitors

My current in this content marketing challenge is to reach between 1,000 and 2,000 monthly unique visitors.

This might seem like much for some, but it's a start and that's all I want you to do.  Just start!  I'm actually pretty sure that I'll surpass that 1,000 unique visitors a month, but I want to keep it at that so I can show you that it is possible.

Don't be discouraged by that low number.  

Remember: the work you're going to do in this challenge will compound over time.

A Content Marketing Challenge will produce for years to come, compounding your efforts over time.

If your unique monthly visitors converted into leads at just 3% at 1,000 visitors a month, that equates to 30 leads a month.

That's 360 leads a year which is way more than the majority of online marketers can say they have.

What if you bring in 5,000 after your second or third 90 day challenge?  That's 150 leads a month and 1,800 a year.  That's not bad for some content that will produce for years to come.

Growing Your Email List

Perhaps the most important thing you can get out of your hard work is growing your email list.

Having an engaged email list means a lot off different things.

An email marketing list can grow your blog traffic.  It can potentially increase your income.

An email list can grow your social media following and increase your authority.

My current goal range for this content marketing challenge is to grow my new email list to 1,000 subscribers.

Become The Leader You Were Meant To Be

Like it or not, social media is here to stay.

And it's important.

Sure, you can run an online business without a social media following of any kind, but it's rare that that happens.

Your social media goal could be something as simple as shooting for 1,000 followers total.  This could be spread out among all social networks:

  • 200 FB Fanpage Likes
  • 400 Twitter Followers
  • 400 YouTube Subscribers

It's really up to you to decide what kind of social media goal you want to set.

Final Thoughts

I truly believe you can benefit from a 90 Day Content Marketing Challenge, even if you can't do a full 90 days straight.

If I can work my but off for a few months and have that effort pay for itself in the long run, then I'm game!

Seriously, if you've been thinking about increasing your blog traffic and growing your email list but don't know where to start, then this challenge is perfect for you.

Again, the only thing that matters the most is that you start and you keep that momentum going.

I don't care if you think you will suck.  You can only get better, right?

Just keep moving forward.
